• The Foundation of the Convent of the Sacred Heart School, which belonged to the Society of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, will now fall under the responsibility of the Archbishop of Malta. This follows an agreement which was signed today, Wednesday 23rd July 2014, between Sr Bernardette Porter, Treasurer, and Sr Carmen Valentino, Delegate, on behalf of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Dr Michelle Tabone on behalf of Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. The agreement was signed at the Archbishop’s Curia, Floriana.

By means of this agreement, the Society of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is gratuitously placing at the disposal of the Foundation, the premises and all the facilities used by the school.

The Archbishop confirmed that this transition will take place smoothly to ensure the stability of this educational institution of the Catholic Church in Malta. The parents of the students and the staff of the school were informed about this change in management of the school, prior to the end of the last scholastic year.

The Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus thanked the Archbishop and stated that they were highly satisfied with the outcome of this educational venture.

The Church in Malta gratefully acknowledges the 111 years of sterling service offered by the Society of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and for their dedication towards the thousands of students who received their education in this school throughout the years.
