• The Church in Malta is organising the Jubilee of the Family, a day of activities celebrating the family, as part of the celebrations of the Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis. This Day will be held on Sunday, 30th October 2016, at the Archbishop’s Seminary, Tal-Virtù.  

    The programme includes sports activities for all the family, animation for children, workshops, music, and spaces for prayer.  Counselling services will be offered by a number of professionals. A number of priests will be available to hear confessions. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will talk place in the chapel. 

    The Day will start with Mgr Charles J. Scicluna celebrating Mass at 9.00 a.m. that will be broadcast on TVM 2. The Archbishop will also be presenting the Maltese translation  of Pope Francis’s Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love). 

    Families are being encouraged to attend this activity to celebrate the family which is the cradle of mercy and the heart of a healthy society.

    • 9:00 a.m. – Mass celebrated by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna
    • 6.00 p.m. – Mass ending the Jubilee of the Family
    • All day – Eucharistic Adoration at the Seminary Chapel; moments of silence and Sacrament of Reconciliation
    •  09:45 a.m. – Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna inaugurates the Jubilee of the Family and presents the Maltese version of ‘Amoris Letitia’ by Pope Francis
