• On Thursday, 12th October 2017, the Apostolic Nuncio, His Excellency Mgr Alessandro D’Errico, presented his credentials to the President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, at The Palace in Valletta. During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Apostolic Nuncio discussed bilateral relations.

    Archbishop Alessandro D’Errico, the new Apostolic Nuncio in Malta, was born in Frattamaggiore, in Naples, Italy on 18th November 1950. He was ordained priest in 1974, and consecrated as Titular Archbishop of Carini in 1998. He studied at the Pontifical Academy in Rome and holds a doctorate in Philosophy. 

    Archbishop Alessandro D’Errico joined the Holy See Diplomatic Service in 1977 after having served in several nunciatures. Archbishop D’Errico was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Pakistan (1999-2005), in Bosnia & Herzegovina (2005-2012), in Montenegro (2010-2012), and in Croatia (2012-2017). 

    Archbishop D’Errico is concurrently Apostolic Nuncio in Libya.
