• The Congregation for the Clergy has launched Clerus App, a free smartphone application to help priests prepare their homilies, announced the Italian edition of the Holy See’s Vatican News website today.

This application provides a link to the Sunday Mass Gospel readings, as well as a commentary by Jesuit priest Marko Ivan Rupnik.

Each week, usually on Thursday, ideas for reflection on the following Sunday’s readings will be provided.

Although the specific purpose of this app is to assist the preparation of homilies, it can be downloaded by anyone who is interested in the content. The app allows users to download the reflections to their phone for offline use, and to take notes; an audio version of the text is also available.

This service, currently only available in Italian, has been prepared in partnership with the Secretariat of Communication of the Holy See.

The application is available for the iPhone and other iOS devices, as well as for smartphones running the Android operating system.
