• More than 90 employees within the Secretariat for Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Malta attended a team-building day at Casa Leone organised and coordinated by Nicolette Scerri, the Church Homes for the Elderly Activity Coordinator.

Last year, the Secretariat organised their team-building day at this home as well. These annual events form part of the Secretariat’s corporate social responsibility.

The event began by means of the celebration of Holy Mass in the home’s chapel by Fr Charles Mallia followed by a number of activities including the following: gardening, cleaning, hairdressing, physical exercises, manicures, crafts, reading, bingo and walking the residents out.

This event included the painting of two most beautiful scenes in Malta of Fort St Elmo and Mdina on the walls of the home by Mr Anthony Vella and his team.

All the residents were visited by the Secretariat staff.

Casa Leone is one of the five Church Homes for the Elderly which accommodates 99 residents. Daily activities (within and outside of the home) are organised by the Home Manager and Activity Coordinator. Volunteers who are willing to provide a service in this home and in the other Church Homes for the Elderly are most welcome.
